i've got one of these recently remade series 3 gearghages,
i am doing a dry build on my gp a the moment and as i was building the headset i noticed that where the clutch cable sits inside the gearchange there is only a slot,
it's not like a proper gearchange where there is an actual round cut out for the cable to sit in,
has anyone come across this?
does it work as is, or do i have to somehow drill it as per original?

I just looked at a couple of new ones and they're the same, I'm not sure if it'll serve any purpose drilling a recess for the outer cable end to sit in as once it's tightened it can't go anywhere.... can it?

Is there not a chance of the inner-cable rubbing & then failing?
The inner needs to be kept central does it not?
