In the first 500 miles it found every weak link in the engine. I also seem to spend a lot more time in the petrol station :D
Very noisey & leaves a trail of oil every were .
To be honest i love it :D ;)
I agree, it will break anything not up to snuff and is a tad thirsty, but if get it jetted right then you can pootle around town no problem then when the mood takes you open her up and get the power band smile... :D Its the quickest kit for a small block in standard form, in fact the only scoots that tend to pull away are tuned ts and the like. If im honest though its taken a while to get it set up correctly but that was prob down to me... :D

Few mates have imolas and love them, but a couple have gone pop in the last couple of weeks...What you going to do ...lol

In all fairness i dont think the rb kit is the best for me, does sound great. But i would like to start of with something a little more gentel lol.

Its would be nice to here what people are using with imolas and what kind of power they are putting out, cheers

72MPH (GPS) on my Mugello 186 two up on the flat. 30mm Dellorto, JL1 and totally untouched. But, I would prefer a bit more low down grunt, so the engine is stripped and ready to go to Mr Tuner (whoever that may be!)

i'm running an imola with li150 gearing a 30mm oko and a scootrs. TBH, i'm really happy with the way it turned out. it pulls nicely thru all the gears at low-mid-high rpms. i live where it's kinda hilly and only have to down shift on the steeper hills.

cheers.
From that statement I think the Imola will do what you want. Your choice of gearing though is very important, mine used to be 5.7, it was brilliant and brought a smile very regularly on the lanes around where I live but was a bit of a pain on long fast runs. It's now at 5.3 and that hasn't really reduced the fun factor locally but has improved it on longer runs. It will run with the pack no problems at at 60-70 and still have lots left for when you need it, it will however sound like it's gonna blow up but it won't! I don't know the top speed of mine as my balls seem to have shrunk...

On 4-5 hour runs though it's a bit of a pain, I get fecked off with the revving and the vibrations and tbh would much rather be on my GP200 for those trips. I'm going to see if it will pull gearing of 5.0, if not it will get left at home for the longer trips.

I've done 12000 miles on mine and only stripped it twice, changed the rings the first time (some blow-by) and currently it's in bits because the weak point was a circlip... very reliable and relatively low maintenance imo. Carb is a 30 delly, pipe is a JL3.

/edit

The acid test is would I buy another, I may well do that and sell my damaged kit for someone else to fix, I've looked at the options and cant see a better buy.

Great help that, are JL pipes the same as Kegra and taffspeed?

However, i guess it would be better to have a 200cc bike plus... but that would mean having to find one!

The only real competition for an Imola is a Tuned TS1 or an RB if we are talking out of the box, It really depends where you are going to do most of your riding, it's always about compromise. Or, just do what I do, buy another :bouncyeng: , got my eyes on another but the wife is less than amused....

Ok I have stripped it down, I was wondering if anyone had any kits that they are willing to part with. I will consider anything.

No I have already built that kit,I painted in the same style as those used in the battle of the somme. However at the moment I am more interested in armoured vehicles used during WW2.
