Time to wake this one up again.
One other aspect is that the stand is a bit to long, the kickstart touches it when I try to kickstart the bike of the stand.
I should probably get myself a new kick. Which company produces one closest to original?
Center stand

kejj, as I already mensioned, there is something wrong with the way that your stand is bolted on. It looks like there are some spacer tubes between the frame and the nut? There shouldn't be, they will tend to allow the cross member to twist and it will probably brake if not attended tokejj wrote:
I don't quite get it.
What tubes?
so the nuts def go the other way around?
the stand is longer than when compered to original.
I should maybe change the lot but with which one?

as coaster says, there shouldn't be anything sticking out of the rear of the crossmember.kejj wrote:I don't quite get it.

The nut, or the bolt head, should be inside the cross member "V", against the back of the front part...
unless, as joey said, this part is Indian, then sometimes a tube would run from front to back of the crossmember, and the bolt would go all the way through.
You have two problems.
the stand is not sitting right, if the holes in the crossmember aren't pulled through, then is the crossmember itself at the right angle ?? If the rest of the frame is not Indian, and these struts are, have they been added later, and perhaps not in exactly the right place...?
If all this was right, then your front wheel would be in the air as your stand is too long...
Simplest thing to do without mucking about with the frame is to cut a vee in the stops and bend to get the angle you want, then weld these up, then cut the legs to the length you want.
I've done this on a few bikes that had the same problem as yours.
It's a bit of messing about, as you have to keep fitting and removing the stand...
It helps if the wheels can be raised to get the stand "below ground level" when you're working out where to bend and cut.
It's not my favourite job
The bike is a home rebuild. The frame is a Italian li150. The bodywork is a mix of GP and Special 150 style. Definitely a bitsa (and I love it)
Rebuild by the former owner in UK.
The crossmember might as well have been changed, I will inspect it closely.
Yes the front tire is in the air free.
The stand it self is to long, When I kickstart the bike from the side I hit the stand.
Does anyone have a small graph showing how the bits should go together? Italian Vs Indian Crossmember.

Can you put a pic up showing the kickstart stand clearance problem please
I have uploaded a STAND album to my dropbox.

There is a tube going right through so I guess the crossmember was welded on the frame by the previus owner.
I need to lift the bike up a considerable amount of height by the handlebars and use my body to push it forward and of the stand.
