i Attempted this myself a while ago,and the way i did it was to alter the frame mountings by 1cm ..so as to offset the motor to the offside..
i then used vespa rims,welded and re drilled and a 1cm spacer as per the SIP technique.. :D
it worked out really well and i found that all was kept central and in line with minimal mods to the mag flange whilst keeping the std rolling radius of a 3.50 tyre...
but i,m sure that wider tyres could be be fitted if only lower profile ..interesting to see how this all works out .

i did ask but he didn't say ...the rims are a proto at the moment

i shall have to ask about top end again ....the fly wheel looks to be a vespa one but thats merely a guess
