Old topic but finally got around to finishing this. Cheers guys.
Used a bit of copper grease on the piston and its all fine and works well, just went through MOT too.
Now to get rid of that star hub for a classic wheel.

Re: Front hub frozen solid...

Re: Front hub frozen solid...
Wee buns. I can see one of the pistons isn't moving so well. Whilst the pads looked ok in thickness from an inspection, truth is they almost disintegrated as I pulled em out. So two new questions; What lube can I use for the pistons that won't run out onto my brakes? And do these pads contain asbest...

Front hub frozen solid...
I have a px200 disc. It's been off the road for a few years until I started riding it again last year. Put it through MOT and all ok. Over the last few months my front wheel has become stiff when I first start riding then it clears up ok. So MOT was up again and I didn't have the time to look at it ...

Re: Vespa P2 jumping gear
The old cruciform problem.
Replaced about half a dozen of these many moons ago. They never seem to stay good for long.

Removing my disc brake
I drive a px200 disc an I fkn hate that auto looking front hub. It seems it has to be there for the disk to work, so I think the disc should go. I hardly need a front disc brake on a bike that does 70 when I'm wearing a flappy jacket with the wind behind me. Other than getting an older hub do I have...

Re: Exhaust fitting question on PX200
The entire stand had to come off. There was no way it was going on with it attached. But it's all on now. Took it for a light run tonight and tomorrow I'll recheck all the nuts and bolts again before I hit it a bit harder. Sounds very nice and seems to allow a bit more revving in each gear. Also cle...

Re: Exhaust fitting question on PX200
With much force and blattering it's on. I'm not happy about the amount of violence used in what should have been a much easier fit. Now snag number 2 is the bloody centre stand. The pipe hits the tabs for the return spring. Unless I drop the exhaust low enough which means I have to get a part made t...

Re: Exhaust fitting question on PX200
It's standard as far as I know. The stub is pretty round tho and is pretty thick so I doubt it is that. The exhaust itself could be a bit off but it's a big difference. Just wondering if the manifolds were made thicker on the disc models. I'm a lambretta guy usually so I find it really weird it does...
