I bought a PM Tuning pipe and I cannot get the pipe to fit onto my exhaust stub on my PX 200 disc.
The stub is too wide. The dude sold me it off his 200.
I tried getting the exhaust pipe widened a little and it still won't fit.
Any ideas?

Have you got a standard barrel or is it an ali kit such as malossi or pinasco? Reason i ask is i'm wondering if you've got an ovulated/squashed stub which is easy to do on those by doing the clamps up too tight

It's standard as far as I know. The stub is pretty round tho and is pretty thick so I doubt it is that.
The exhaust itself could be a bit off but it's a big difference.
Just wondering if the manifolds were made thicker on the disc models.
I'm a lambretta guy usually so I find it really weird it doesn't have a gasket and bolts onto the port.
The stub actually screws out which I cant see being a good seal.

did the exhaust come off a malossi kit or another ali barrel? i've seen on a pm pipe where the downpipe is slightly oval, due to someone tightening the clamp too much over time. Some ali barrels are very slightly smaller on the stub , so you might need to check downpipe on exhaust. i cured it with a tap or 2 with a hammer on the downpipe lol, then it slips on

With much force and blattering it's on. I'm not happy about the amount of violence used in what should have been a much easier fit.
Now snag number 2 is the bloody centre stand. The pipe hits the tabs for the return spring.
Unless I drop the exhaust low enough which means I have to get a part made to extend the centre connector bolt.
My MB went on my GP like a dream too.

Yes there are other slots across that frame strut that you can move it to. The screw in stubs arent thicker on disc/late models and seal fine, they probably rust in on the iron barrels, that's how they seal high pressure steam boilers in a way, leave them outside to rust :D
The stub system only falls down if not screwed in properly and as i said before with the squashable and breakable aluminium stubs on kits.
Vespa T5's have the stud/flange system though. Just in case you wanted to know

The entire stand had to come off. There was no way it was going on with it attached.
But it's all on now. Took it for a light run tonight and tomorrow I'll recheck all the nuts and bolts again before I hit it a bit harder.
Sounds very nice and seems to allow a bit more revving in each gear.
Also clears the spare easily enough too.

You've probably already taken care of it ,but just in case you haven't ..that will need quite an upjet with a pipe like that and maybe the timing backing off a little ,assuming everything else is standard.
