I'm after a replacement piston for a rapido 250 and was wondering if you could use a RB25 piston (when they become available!). Are the compression heights the same? Or is another piston better suited? Really need to get this sorted to see what stroke crank to use.

cheers

I’m not saying there’s an issue with the original pistons shocky, just that I don’t know much about them as in 'are they any good?’ I was thinking about an RB piston as I've been told they are a good quality drop forged item.

I will be fitting a reed valve so the holes may be beneficial and other 72mm pistons are not as common as you'd like, quite a few last over size pistons at 72mm and I think there could be a 73mm jet ski but you need to have a look at them.

I had a talk with Foxy and he’s done about 8000 miles on the same piston so I don’t doubt the quality just if I'm buying a new piston just wondering what the options are before I attack the barrel with the welder!
