An original one for sure. You should be able to pick one up easily enough.

Well, you might strike lucky and get an old one off a dealer. Otherwise a parts fair or the dreaded e.Bay. They often turn up there and can be had quite reasonably. Be prepared to have them re-chromed however.

Hey doom
im talking about the kickstart shaft not the lever. it keeps bending between the case and first gear. hope that makes sense. im wondering if there is a good upgraded one for a tuned (higher compression) motor?

Feck me. You're bending the actual kickstart shaft? What are you doing to them?

bought some indian ones years ago that seemed good but recently put them to use and they aren't. i've bent two. one on my 185 wiesco and now one on my tuned tv 200. getting to be a real pain.
so i thought there might be some alternatives.

Do you lean the scoot right over to start? as this is what's probably bending the shaft as it hits the casing stop.I've only seen this once on an extended one for a 6 plate clutch and mate always leant scoot over to start.
