I have a standard spanish cylinder, two-ring Asso piston and Clubman exhaust. When inspecting the matter I found out that the exhaust port on the cylinder is quite a lot smaller than the opening of exhaust manifold. Should I just enlarge the port so that it matches the manifold or aim for some other dimensions or just left it to factory specs?

i would blend the exhaust port to match the manifold, assuming the gasket will match also. i wouldnt touch the cylinder port shape at all though

will improve exhaust gas flow

Here's the current situation in psychedelic colours.

So you suggest that insted of opening the exhaust port in the cylinder to match the shape of the gasket (whitch is matched to manifold) I leave it to current state and just bevel the port so it opens gradually towards manifold?
