Bearing puller bought off Adam Winstone few years back now...

But before that a bearing track puller available from Machine Mart, but for this the crank needs to be out of the engine...

I generally carefully cut a slot with an angle grinder and knock it off sharply with a chisel.
The best way I have seen is by CSE. Chris has made a tool like pliers with a ring coller. Heat this end then quickly grab the collar, the heat transfers to the collar and it just slips off. Uses the same in reverse to fit a new one.

I've seen that at CS Jarv

It's a brilliant bit of kit isn't it? Simple, but very effective.

I use the grind/tap off technique, but the CS tool is definitely a great way to do this job.

hello,

i've gone for the grind and tap method as I do not have access to any of the tools for easy removal. but the tap ain't happening, collar is real stubborn. how hard? i do not want to hit it too hard as i do not want to cause any damage.

cheers
