just fitted new pick up box on a af indian stator on my a mates bike (lambretta) as old one knackerd we fitted a vespa one .correct reading on meter but when we turn the flywheel (af lightened) we hear clicking noises 5 in one complete revelution of flywheel its not catching anywhere as we have marked anything that can catch and its ok. its like a pulse sort of noise and seems to happen as magnets pass the pick up box the bike starts 1st kick and seems to run ok i just wonderd if anyone has come across this before . thanks nigel

Maybe rivet heads catching on a wire, or an earth tag catching against the flywheel boss.
This is where some stators catch, but then don't show up as a rub mark on the flywheel.
The normal easy to spot rub marks which is what it does when the laminates and\or pick-up catches the inside face of the flywheel or the rub marks off the stator bolt heads rubbing on the bottom face of the flywheel, but as you said you've marked it up and every things OK.
When you do find whats causing it let me know, Thanks...

you may have some loose magnets .....
take your flywheel of and do this easy check....
use any chunk of steel and hold it on in turn on every end of each magnet.....and as you try to pull it away ....you may notice that the magnet moves....
if they dont pull away ...they are ok .
but if they do ....and are loose ...this would explain whats happening each time they pass over a laminate end....

or even look at the tab that holds the wiring out the way of flywheel its been known for some people to put this on the wrong way round causing it to catch on the flywheel base .
