How come phonetics isn't spelt with an 'f'?

I'm my settings are 15 pilot, 4dh7 needle on the middle clip, and 185 main.
I have a ported 175 iron barrel and kba big bore, uni filter. I'm still dialing in the main and it may still be a tad rich.
