Not wishing to hijack the current "torque" thread but I assume that your choice of reed valve set-up affets the torque characteristics of your motor.
So which set-up would help promote torque lower down the rev range, to say compliment a 30mm carb on a long stroke TS1 with a taffy or JL3 pipe? I have a complete Tassinari unit ready to go for a 35mm TMX but can't help feel that its not what I need.
Which reed valve is best for torque

basically all reed valve intake systems are good for torque....
but different reeds suit different engines...just generalizing but
thinner reeds suit lower revving motors,as they are more responsive.
and thicker reeds suit higher revving ones as they are less prone to fluttering, theres a bit more to it than that of course but you get the idea hopefully.
in your case, the dual stage boyasun reed would be well worth trying as they would give you the best of both worlds...

I see, so is that why the dual stage versions were introduced, kinda best of both worlds?
Without putting you on the spot Sean what would be your recommendation?

the dual stage ones (whatever make ) consist of a thinner reed over a thicker one if you like.
the thinner ones react better at low revs ,and the thicker take over at higher revs...
again thats a general over simplification, but hope that helps matters...
why are you not to happy with yours ....?

I've not completely built it yet, but just thought that the Tassinari set-up screamed "race" at me everytime I looked at it in the packaging
and thought hang on..... this isn't actually going to compliment my set-up or intended use at all.
I'm a firm believer in the sum of all of the parts.

I've used the V Force and what improvements they made is hard to tell as I changed many things at the same time but the whole package does what I want. Supposed to help low to mid.
Reed valves are like anything else when you start to look into it it can get really complex
.
Had a look at the dual stage and they've gotta be an improvement on std I reckon.
