I thought I had piston slap, but when I removed the top end I saw this on the inlet side and by the windows on a Racetour piston. I don't think it's worn, I just think it's melted ally, but why would it get that hot on the inlet? I had been jetting a new carb using EGT and it got pretty hot at times :?

The piston seized around the inlet - maybe an oval bore?

Just wondered if its a ported barrel, if it is how wide are the exhaust and inlet across the chord?

Looking at it, looks a little bit like it could be a lack of 2 stroke oil.

But it could be a tolerance issue between piston and bore.

It's standard TS1 porting running 3% Rock Oil, mixed
in my garage before filling. I've been trying to iron out a problem of it running lean while cruising. No pinking though.

Looking at the piston it's marked 70.00 ABCD, I can't tell which grade it is :?

And yes, unfiltered.

did it seize?certainly looks like it has, wots going on on the lower edge of the port?is that ally off the piston or has the port been lowered...not that that should affect it in this way.
