As funds are short i'm trying a little "tuning" work on my own so my question is this. From the photos below can i take anymore out of the bottom of the barrel to match the opening on the piston? Should i shape the opening to the full extent of the piston on both sides(carb and exhaust) or just one and is this then mirrored to the opposite side of the barrel. Sorry if my description has you tuning gurus screaming, but this is my first attempt and you have to start somewhere
you should maybe approach this from a slightly different angle dave.........
which is to first port out engine case transfers as far as you can.................that will determine how far you may be able to cut out spigot etc........in other words, theres no point in widening spigot unless theres enough meat on case to match...........
use a base gasket as a guide........and bear in mind thickness of barrel around trans.....etc.
Hi thackers!
I want too to start with my first lambretta tune. I have an indian stage4 and i want to start maching the barrel to the engine case.
Please put you progress here
Have a look on here you will see info on what Sean is explaining about matching the transfers
barrel to casing.
Its on a TS barrel but it gives the general idea.
