EVENING,

JUST REBUILT MY INBOARD FRONT HUB AND I HAVE A PROBLEM. THE HUB WILL NOT FIT INTO THE GAP BETWEEN THE FORK LINKS... WHICH IS AT 131MM APART,

THE DISC HUB HAS BEEN CHECKED AND HAS BEEN PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY.. ANY IDEA'S TO WHY ITS NOT PLAYING BALL..

ARE STANDARD GP LINKS AND DISC LINKS THE SAME GAP APART TO ACCOMADATE THE HUBS.. ??

I ASK AS I'VE CONVERTED MY OLD LINKS TO DISC LINKS TO ACCEPT THE INBOARD HUB, COULD THIS BE WHY???

NO ONE ???????????????????????

Are you sure that the hub and backplate are fitted together correctly? Disc is located on the correct dowels? Axle locking nut is fully tightened?

I believe that both sets of links are the same distance apart for fron hub fitting.

I have an Sx150 and GP200 in my garage. Will measure and post results tomorrow.......

Don't forget that the disc hub has a stud to anchor the right hand link to the backplate and not the slot type as on LI125/150/SX150 etc

Rog60 i have put together the hub over half a dozen times, from stickeys to lloydy's internet page..

it comes together the same every time..

the links i converted from my gp 150, all i did was cut the stub off were it locks into the drum hub..

then i measured and then made a machined piece to suit the disc locking stud on the back plate then i tig welded it up .. this works perfect..

the issue like i said is when inserting the hub onto the links the hub is to big by about 4mm.. these links were trued before and after just to be sure,

i'm lost

Unless they distorted during the welding process?????

it comes together the same every time..

But is it fitting together correctly every time????

the only thing i haven't checked is the lengths of the distance peices, which i've replaced.. maybe they're too long..

would be great if you could check your links rog60..............just for sanity sake

Do you mean the distance pieces between the wheel bearings???

probably way off the mark, but are you sure youve put the links in the right sides?

ukoldschool, just to allay your fears.. ha ha

managed to sort it, i was a couple of mm from the links from fitting. put it down to indian technology powder coating and 30 years service.. ha ha

just started getting bits back from the powder coaters and the sprayers..

i'm well happy.. i'll post some pics if anyone's interested
