Hi everyone merry Xmas
Just after any help with making sure the gear cables are correct on my scooter as finding it hard to select neutral and first gear , the scooter had never been rode ridden before and been stood for a fair while . It will select 2nd easy enough plus 3rd and 4th but it’s hard to get 1st and neutral . I’ve tried rocking it back and Forth sat on it . Gear oil is fine just wondering if cables need adjusting

There will be many suggestions on how to do this but this is one way. Put the handlebar changer to '0' neutral and tape it in this position. Then pull one inner cable with a pair of pliers, not too hard and tighten the grubscrew in the trunion. Then do the same with the other wire. Remove the tape and tighten the cables as necessary with the adjusters at the same time keeping the handlebar indicator to neutral.

With cable adjustment, you need to remember, back to front and front to back. The cable thats at the front(nearest the headlight)in the headset goes to the adjuster at the back(nearest the back wheel )on the top of the engine.
