So I have completely stripped the Li down. The last part For painting I needed to remove was the rear hub. I bought a Scootopia hub puller and set it all up only to find one of the three bolt holes is cross threaded so I cannot get one of the securing bolts in. How frustrating!!! As the holes are not that deep I don't know if I'll get a tap that will cut a new thread. Any suggestions of other methods to remove would be appreciated. I may have to pay to have it done at the local workshop but the amount this restoration is going to cost I could do without paying out for anything else unplanned

no- not the actual casing. Spin the hub and gently hit it with the rubber mallet from the casing side. You will of course have undone the hub nut first won't you......
You can leave the actual rear wheel bolted up. Make sure its inflated hard and hit the tyre from the K/S side as you spin it.

I'm not sure where I read it, maybe an old scootering mag, a roadside tip for removing a hub was to pour a kettle of boiling water over it and to lay a cloth or something soft on the ground so when the hub pops off, it doesn't get damaged when it lands. I've never needed to but worth a shot I think?
