Do those tanks not bolt directly to frame? Not sure they use straps.

+^ that's a bolt in tank, no straps required.

But there are only 2 bolt holes on the back of the tank to attach where the seat bolts are. - no bolt holes at the front?

The tank doesn't have the grooves for tank straps either ? is there a bracket on the bottom to bolt to the frame ?

TSR sell those tanks. I just fitted one to my Series 2. Not sure if they can supply just the strap.

I stand corrected

just checked the TSR site and it shows a strap and a second bracket.......bit of a hybrid fixing system (in my defence

)

Yes not the best idea in the world but once fitted seems to work well.

I can see how the back bracket goes on using seat bolts - but I can't figure out how the other bracket attaches to the bottom front of the tank? There isn't anything on the tank underneath to attach?

The bracket fixes under the front seat mounting point and then the strap wraps round the tank. You access the bolt through the toolbox door.
