Original finish . I believe the sprayer is using two pack paint, not celluose and is not familiar with restoration work of Lambrettas. I guess matt laquer myself would be nearest, but I just thought I'd ask the question.

I'm a bit confused by his offer to laquer it for you. If it's done in a nice 2Pac paint it won't need laquering. I suspect he's referring to the finish of the paint, and not necessarily talking about a second layer of varnish.

Probably right. He just mentioned matt or gloss. I just presumed clear laquer is applied over top of a colour. He just pointed over to an alloy car hub in grey. He didn't mention about the white finish I wanted for the internal parts, cowlings , tank , etc. I'm thinking just gloss finish for everthting on scoot now.

Forgive me Doom Patrol, but do you mean 2pac is basically "gloss finish".Doom Patrol wrote:It will be. That's what 2Pac is basically.

Well, as far as I know it is. As I understand it it's designed specifically so that you don't need a laquer top coat. I'm not saying you can't get a matt finish. Typically, I'll probably find you can now.

Just looking into all the diffrent paint make up cellulose, water based 2pac, acrilyc 2pac. I'm not sure what spec of paint he is going to use. I have read that the the latest eco friendly water based 2pac scratches easily. Will have to check with sparyer.
