Could be ethanol in modern fuel destroying the glue.

I have had this happen on the floats in Dell'orto SI carbs and I have seen examples on PHBh too. Poor glue, ethanol in fuel??

Why not email the pics to Eurocarb to investigate? Who knows it may make Dellorto revise the floats.

Had this happen to my phbh 28bs carb. To the float that the carb left the factory with.
In iron Lambretta cylinders we trust!

Ok hopefully now sorted, emails back and forth with dellorto uk and they tell me uk supplied carbs have the black floats so that's what I've ordered.
White floats are only for our friends on the mainland

My guzzi has had black floats since 1979. Same Del Orto PHF's.
The same black floats, the same as fitted by Giovani way back when.
