Hi, can anyone tell me if you can check a stator to see if it's faulty ? Also are they easy to change ?

You can do a static test if you have a multi-meter,all the figures are in "stickys" manual.Unfortunately when the scooter is being used with the dodgy stator it could break down when it gets hot.

They are easy to change - you'll need a flywheel removal tool, and a flywheel holder. Once the flywheel is off, three bolts hold the stator in place, and a cable clamp holds the wiring through the top of the mag flange.
If you change it you'll have to check the timing, best done with a strobe gun. The nut holding the flywheel on is left handed.
