Hi all,got a rattle from gearbox/clutch,when I pull the clutch in the rattle stops,
is it just a case of changing clutch plates or could it be something a bit more
sinister,thanks

That's sometimes a symptom of knackered bearings - check to see if the fly wheel moves in and out a bit when you work the clutch.

The last clutch related noise I had was not a major catastrophe.

The "circlip" type wire for retaining the centre pressure plate was missing (never did find it ?).

This caused the pressure plate to "rattle" until the clutch was depressed.
