A V5 or as its called now a V5C, is a document produced by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing association (DVLA) which give some sort of "title" to a vehicle- it does not prove "ownership" but merely confirms the "registered Keeper" It shows the vehicle registration number; the VIN and engine numbers; colour; weight; emissions; and the name and address of who the vehicle is registered to.
Similar, I think, to your "Pink Sheets"??

I'm a UK expat in Texas. V5 to me seems something a title in the US.
