I've tried to assemble the gearbox to check the end float while waiting for my new xmas tree shim to arrive. Bit of a problem though. I've pulled the layshaft into place with an MB puller but the layshaft is too far out and the end plate won't seat -it's about 5 mm out.
Can only think it's a problem with the new scootrs rear wheel bearing or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance!

Sound like you haven't pulled the layshaft through full , it may be stuck on the o ring ?

When i was young my Mom said "if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all " ..................... and people wonder why I'm quiet around them !
Thanks Carlos, spot on stuck on the o ring . Had some grease on the inside of bearing , cleaned that out and a tap with a hammer and all good now.
