Is anyone running a set up with a ScootRS reed manifold on a PX?
I've a P166X with an SI 24 that needs a 130 main jet, has an OMG fast flow tap but still suffers from poor fuel flow at WOT and when backing off throttle there's a delay and almost a backfire before float bowl refills. Had carb off and the casing has been mildly ported, crank looks to have to have had some work when turning engine over.
Been advised it's timing that's causing issues and a reed valve would sort things out, don't want to go above a Polini 24mm, Dellorto PHBL 25mm or PHBH 26mm and pipe is a SIP Road 2. Wondering if anyone has used this reed valve for a touring set up?

Would the 'bigger hole' conversion be easier?
I've got a similar problem with my Parma engine. When I get around to it, I'll put one of the BGM carbs on it.

I have a friend who uses one on his Pinasco 215. He says it's a noticeable improvement over the SI. It certainly looks well made... don't know about the reed itself, but that can be replaced by any number of different quality reeds right up to the Tassinari V force.
But maybe that's overkill. What about starting with checking the flow straight out of the tank... next swap the carb and see what that does?

Bigger hole as in faster flow? Seen those BGM carbs, they look same as mine which is stamped Dellorto & Spaco on the body, had the carb apart but not measured anything. But the filter has been drilled. Been dyno'd with a new SIP2 on and needs a 130 main which I think is pretty big. Changed from a standard tap to modified Lambretta tap as old one wouldn't shut off and flooded the barrel and pipe when stood, it seems to flow well enough. Was going to get the float bowl jack up spacer to let more fuel in, but a couple of people have said it'll be a timing issue as casing and crank look like something's gone on. Was hoping to come down on the main jet with a reed fitted as well as getting rid of the fuel lag/delayed pick up/backfire. Have a ScootRS mini reed on a Mugello barrel and it seems to be well made, what carbs fit the manifold? I like the look of the 24mm Polini CP, there's a 26mm reamed out version too, which is as big as I would want to go.
No it's not a Keihn type it's a flat body SI24 that's on it. Looking to try another flat body 24 on it to rule out carb problem. Jack up kit is a SIP product to allow more fuel in float bowl.
