Hi All,

Still chasing the elusive perfect set up

current set up;
Pilot 55 3 turns out
40 slide
Av268
X7 needle 2nd clip
Main jet 134
choke 70
My panel filter
AF 9-5-1 Head
scoot RS with better end can
sx150 gear box 47 x 18 sprockets.

Seem to be very close now, starts first kick warm or cold idle to 1/4 perfect 1/2 to 3/4 possibly too lean, full throttle perfect.

after lots of choke tests all through the rev range I think 1/2 to 3/4 is on the lean side.
so folks I'm thinking a change of taper might help? but unsure which path to follow?

to richen 1/2 to 3/4 am I correct in thinking lift the needle to 2.5 or 3 clip position or would it be better to try x13 on the 1st or 2nd clip position?

any advice on this would be greatly appreciated! :D

Hi Muppet,

Yes when choke is on in 3rd gear I get splutter up to 1/2 throttle then splutter 3/4 full,
1/2 to 3/4 makes no noticeable difference with the choke on so am assuming this is a needle issue?

this is on a Cast iron 225 factory tune with porting cleaned up cases matched and runs very well with virtually no spit back.
