Got a reliable harry barlow 200 nothing fancy 110 rod blended ports goes well enough smooth pulls to 65 just :D with a clubman and 22 on a good day , have tried a few carb pipe combinations most run out of steam about the same speed
So I have a sacrificial alloy 225 barrel I was thinking of modifying to suit an old suzuki 225 piston BUT I didnt want to change my conrod and wondered what peoples thoughts were on these (apart from dont  )

I take it your looking to shim down 18mm to 16mm?

Shame its not the other way round, i.e 18mm rod eye and 16mm piston eye as Rich Taylor is about to release a special small end for this purpose, to go with his new cranks which will all have 18mm rod eyes.

I wouldn't use the shims as ive seen them f@@k up in the past. Surely there is another piston you can use which has a 16mm gudge pin?

ive actually got a ron moss one I paid £50 for but was looking to achive something myself , I didnt think the idea was a sound one and remember the idea from 30 yrs ago, that 18mm to 16mm is a good idea im guessing a bearing with fatter needles in or more needles? At a guess im sure it will have a higher load rating as well due to size thickness and length ?
