framebreather tuning

am trying to set up my framebreather using the original air intake system,standard ma19bs7 carb, an sr 175 barrel and a series 2 clubman, im struggling to get it to run right, and the one time it flew the airfilter was hanging off, so im wondering if the system is too restrictive for any tuning, however modest, any thoughts? main jet was 105, grey plug, 115 way too rich
