Hi, I'm looking for a bit of wisdom on a problem I've just started to have. When starting up from cold only I get a backfire crack sound the bike then runs normally. I use the choke to start then let it off once the engine is running as I always have. Does anyone have an answer to this. Thanks

The only time I have had a backfire is when Iv had a needle that was too lean, so Im thinking maybe the needle is getting stuck at startup till it warms up??

Thanks for help, Exhaust seems ok, the ignition is a Varitronic so I'm hoping it's not that. I'll check the needle.

Also inspect that all the gaskets, seals, rubbers, nuts, bolts, clamps and screws on the carb and intake are good and tight.
