seen some of the stuff these bods make/sell and they seem nice though mind numbingly expensive at about £350.
can anybody tell me do these kits use the original Ducati type CDI/HT unit

Although the CDI looks the same I was led to believe it is their own. Again this is secondhand info from Ian Frankland but the output is superb and quality rarely seen these days. A years warranty and although around £350, quality, reliability and 120 Watts and external pickup must count for something.
Someone will be along in a minute to tell you they're Brilliant/ crap/ worth every penny or not a light on first hand basis, but I'm still waiting in anticipation for mine to arrive to test (IAN! ) [Ah, sh1t, must get to unit and post that casing to him  ). If you get one, post a review. Simon.

i`m actualy trying to fit a 3 phase stator and rotor to my smallie and looking at different ways of solving the pickup issues as i`m using a Khepper at the moment and don`t want to loose that.

Knowing a little about the internal circuitry of CDI's I would hazard that they are compatible, but is an unqualified answer. Electrex will tell you I'm sure, and may even be interested in adding it as an option to their set-up if it is? You're only talking about the ignition circuit with coil/ pick-up/ cdi, not the whole three-phase electrical system. Simon.

Information is a little hard to come by and Electrex are notoriously bad about responding to enquiries. This was being discussed on the other site recently.

The CDI looks fairly standard, I have one under the bench which is going in my next motor. I'll dig it out tomorrow and see if I can see anything special.

It's the same one readspeed and Brolam sell and can be had from some other sources too for a bit less than £350, not much less mind you ...

Here's a pic of the CDI supplied with my kitImage

No manufacturers markings whatsoever. You'd also think they could have carried on the Italian theme and had 'arrestare'

Looks very similar to BGM or other AC regulators

The pickup is definitely different from the standard Ducati type

It's difficult to see how the coils are wired at a casual glance but you have these
