mine isnt right then. the electrics are fine the dial lights up. if i put one wire from the sender it shoots around to 800c put both as per instructions the needle does nothing. i have took it out tried another sender as i have two and it just wont move above the zero line. Anyone know what the two lead sensor wires do then i might know whats wrong - does it need earthing?

thanks

The wires from the thermocouple have to be wired the right way around is all... if its a dial type gauge the wires for lighting it have nothing "normally" to do with the temperature gauge, other than back lighting....
