Could anyone tell me what is the best sprocketing and chain for a 190 set up?
Built upon a 150 LI casing and gearbox. The gearing is exactly the same as the Italian one.
Not sure if to use 46z X 15z and 80 chain or 47z x 16z and 81 chain.
Thank you...
Jaime

Over the years I have ported a few 190 barrels... IMO... They work best when allowed to rev a little, Choice of exhaust and Carb helps... make sure you use a good crank and smallend bearing with Quality 2 stroke oil....
LI 150 15x46 is more than high enough.... You could even opt for LI 125 Special/Pacemaker gearing using 16x47 the close ratio 3rd to 4th helps

It will most likely be a 150 but maybe a 175, I dont think it will be a 125 as it would fall apart if bored to 64mm.... If its been ported (which it most certainly has) it would need to be port mapped to show its true colours, but as a guess I would not reccomend too high gearing as usually they rev better than they pull, whichever barrel you use... unless its a sleeved down 200 done to 190 as I have only ever seen one....

My 185 runs with 16x46. It's about right. It's a 'bit' high in top if you come to a big hill. But it's no effort to knock it down to third and rev its tits off to the top of the hill.
If I was two up, I'd probably never get it into top

Sorry Sean for not specifying. Its the usual Indian SR barrel I am trying to setup... J1MS I very much appreciate what you are saying. So then the chain can still be an 80link you think?
