Main scooter: Lambretta TV175 S3- what else!
Location: Bali-Hai bar, Locarno Ballroom Bristol, 1967!- mines a Brown Split!!

TV175S3 smokes when the engine is under load.

Just drained off the crankcase oil- 150cc's only........( not sure when I last checked it though)

When it smokes its blue not the dreaded white and hasn't got that blown main seal smell.

TBH I just can't be arsed anymore- old age or summat!

Any hopeful ideas?

Top the oil up again then check the oil in a couple of weeks or 50-100miles to see if its still losing any. Thats what I would do before even thinking about stripping it.

thats whats caused the lack of enthusiasm  - anyway, I'm working on a new theory now- thought it through as I lay in bed last night. Clogged air filter ! Only smokes at high RPM and then its blue not white smoke and smells of 2T and not gearbox oil. Doesn't explain the lack of gearbox oil but that could be down to my own fault. We'll see!! :D :D :D

Go on holiday and lay on a beach for a week.......you are guaranteed to spend the week thinking about all the things you can do to your scooter to 'improve' it.

oh dear- it is! Used 100cc in 15 miles!!!

Ironic thing was the scooter was running great- albeit leaving a smoke trail the British Army would be proud of!

Ah well- let the strip down start
