carb position

T5 172cc engine 30mm carb sat on top of a malossi reed valve, in the original frame the carb faced forward but the Frame it is going in i can reverse it to face backwards will this change the performance.

Personally I would leave it facing forward, just thinking that hung out the back it will be sucking in exhaust fumes and other shite kicked up by the rear wheel.

If the manifold is matched to allow it to flow properly I don't see why you can't.
I have a 25mm on this:

And an SS90 rep with a rear facing 32mm, both work fine in the wet as well :)

No problem running backwards. My TS1 P Range has a rear facing carb.
The Quattrini 172 kit also does.

You might also want to consider the access to the adjustment screws just in case the shock gets in the way ;)
