I'm just pondering direction in building my long term projects engine. I've an Indian crank which I'm thinking of re-rodding with a Yamaha conrod and also a RS reverse cone clubman.

Since I'd need to pack the cylinder, would I need to have the mounting brackets cut off the exhaust and rewelded or would it fit (with a little brute force & ignorance)?

Could you not just elongate the holes on box mounting bracket if need be.

If your exhaust is still in good condition, why not ask Ralph to make you another downpipe?

Ask Ralph? How do you do that, I though he'd thrown the towel in with humanity?
