Nu205/2205

I've been told that you can use the wider nu2205 mag side bearing without issue on an li/sx type crank (obviously also not using the mag housing spacer ring). Is this right? Anyone doing this as the wider bearing has to be better.

you need to use a gp crank with that bearing

I understand that the drive side oil seal shoulder on the GP200 crank is shorter then the SX/Li crank to allow this bearing to be used.

To be completely honest, I can't remember, but I did mine a couple of months back and remember that you can't, but not exactly why.

That is correct. The alignment of the bearing to the race will be off if you use the GP bearing on a LI crank. You would need to machine the seal shoulder down on the crank to make it all line up. Cheaper to just buy the correct bearing.
