Kickstart siezure

Mate of mine dropped his scooter over, kickstarts jammed he said.
He was right, it was solid :?
Reckons it just happened after a night stood up,
Local moped shop quoted £600 unseen for repairs, Mk1 PX :o

I said I would look, stripped it and found this:

Wedged in the crank pad, and between crank and case.
Looks like the tickover screw spring, odd though as the tickover screw was still in place.

Now to work out best way to overcome damaged pad :|

Show us pics of the sealing pad. I guess it's all destroyed... You can fix it by welding and skimming it at a the right play between pad and crank or put a reed conversion....
Size matters!
