Yesterday I started up my Monza 225 with TMX30, 58mm crank and Kegra racing exhaust. Timing was set at 17°
Jetting for now is:
Main: 250
Idle: 40 (friend advised 35 but don't have one at the moment)
Needle is what came with the carb and the clip is in the middle position

A friend of mine that runs a TS1 225 with a TMX30 and PM pipe gave me his jetting, and I expected this to be close, but my jetting seems very rich...
I'm thinking he has the TMX30 without the powerjet since he didn't give me a jetsize for one.
Exactly how much difference would a powerjet make across the range, or is this purely the top of the range that's affacted?
And if so... will my mid range be weak if I put in a smaller main jet to compensate for the powerjet, or is his midrange maybe too rich, so his top end can be spot on?

Your pilot jet is way too big.

I used to run a TMX30 on a TS1 with a 25-27.5 pilot, standard needle on the second clip and a 280 main jet. Power jet blanked off. They don't seem to work on these carbs on Lambrettas.
