Hi all setting up a Mugello 186 with a 28 dellorto phbh carb , the temp gauge can run at 170-190 on 18 mile journey sitting between 5,500 and 6,000 revs.
Plug looks a lovely brown colour when I do the plug chop at around 6,000 revs , the owner is concerned it is running hot. Never used a temp gauge before so what guidlines should he be running at .what is a safe temp ?

The numbers are academic, if it's set up and running fine with good plug colour then the number is correct

Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!

Cheers guys just what I wanted to here . I know the plug is right after setting it up this morning, so he can ride it now. Myself I think the exhaust temp gauges are better for scooters but so long as we have a start point and go from there.
Thanks everyone .
