wassel 12v on li 6v points stator

can i use a 6v stator with points and fit a wassel unit to supply 12v dc lighting,converting the stator to 12v as back in the seventies?

So do you have to alter the 6 volt stator? Or can you run the wassel 12 volt system with it as is?

Oh I want to run a 6 volt battery stator, is this possible without altering it?

To run the wassel 12v system the stator needs modifying (as per 60's conversion) as there won't be enough power. You need to add the main lighting coils from another 6v stator (in parallel) with the originals.

cheers for the info chap, you wouldn't know where I could find some more information about the 60's spec stator modification? cheers Paul
