Great photos of a typical Dam hill climb. I was at this meet as thats my red rally in picture 5 to the right in front of the lime green lambretta. Also on pic 2 guy with beard is Pete Merchant from Rochdale.

Does anyone remember the lad from Birkenhead who was there who rode his scoot with his broken leg in plaster? 1979 was a good year,Rhyl (where are you maggot?) and, of course, Southend was most enjoyable. Well, the 8 hours or so that we managed to stay there was before being ejected by the spg.
Happy days.

Hi mate I have some pictures of the 1979 Southend rally taken the next day after the police incident before they threw us out. Did you ride back home with us and stay in the barn on the way home. I still have the small aluminium Lambretta club badge. I also have various photos of weekends in Rhyl 1978/9 did you stay in the barn in Abergele which over the years ended up as a bomb site.

Hi Stu hopefully, just rebuilt my 200 with a 225 top end and need to run it in would prefer to stay local for a couple of miles in case of problems only done 4 miles at present will see. Did you go to Rhyl when there was all the trouble with the hells angels when the police where trying to stop any one getting in with road blocks. We where turned back a couple of times before we found a back road and spent the day hanging round by the fair waiting for the great unwashed to turn up. Happy days.
Timo
