Gents with knowledge ::
I am in process of fitting a reed valve on a non reed engine and because of the reed I am using this involves building the reed housing from scratch.
The question I have what clearance do I have to leave between the reed petals and the housing the reed fits into to give clearance for the petals to open ?

try buying a scrap cylinder for the reed your using (if cylinder reed) and cut the reed box off it then you have an oem design that has the benefit of the manufacturers r+d time which could be up to 10yrs worth in some instances
