Just curious.

How does a standard P range 200 perform in comparison with a standard Rally 200?

Depends on what version mate, the first p2's produced were essentially the same as late rally 200's with ducati ignition. Then as time went on they lowered the compression and added autolube etc eventually leading upto the last ones with lower main jets and timing slightly retarded.
Saying that the rally's were always a faster bike, but rose tinted specs , and light weight riders etc etc !!

i had many of both and tbh there was no difference in performance ,although the PE handled better especially as regards the front end diving under braking lol

I have to confess, I've never been on a P200, but I do enjoy my Rally 200 :D . I've seen and heard loads of good comments over the years about the Rally, less so the P200, so I did wonder whether they had de-tuned it a bit possibly for emissions reasons.
