Rb20/cyclone

I'm thinking of fitting a cyclone to my rb20 over the winter,it currently has a gp 200 gearbox with 18/47 sprockets,it's the Italian box so has the bigger jump 3-4,it can pull this no problem as long as you are going for it,what I'm finding on slower roads or travelling with others is I need to spend all my time in 3rd,nature of the beast I know but I'm thinking a cyclone would make it more rideable, not looking for more speed(but I'll take it ) ,if anyone out there is running a cyclone on the same or similar set up I would love to hear your thoughts, regards, mark

hi mark been thinking the same, have you thought about sprocket sizes ? and what exhaust do you have . its the 50 mph to 60 mph where the problem ls with me would like more torque in that area without having to drop to 3rd when travelling with slower bikes

Hi birdy
Overall I'm happy enough,it will plod along at 50 in 4th and I've had a true 80 out it on GPS,just think it would benefit from the five speed,it has a franspeed touring by the way with a 30 mm flat slide
What you got??

That's good going to get 80 mph from that gearing using a franspeed tourer. If I was you I would leave it well alone.

What about an indian gp200 box ? smaller gap between 3rd and 4th (19%) . Id imagine you'd still be changing down with a 5 speed , to 4th or even 3rd to ride with your mates ?

I have considered the Indian box,I feel a lot of the time a gear between 3 and 4 would be perfect, hence the 5 speed thought, maybe an agusto too to try and smooth it out, tends to be a bit rough unless really revving,or maybe I'm just trying to justify spending 800 quid on bits you can't see lol

hi mark my performance with nk tour seems similar to yours 80mph gps but I had indian gp200 box fitted to close the gap a bit but still thinking 5 gears, I think out of all the kits the rb20 would benefit the most from the extra gear but its the cost ouch!

Would love the feedback on the mtech, think it would really clean up the bottom end(ahem!)
I have the bgm stator,no problems at all
