It needs 3 rubber packers behind, the top one being fatter to bring the mount level.
You could just handpaint a number plate to the bodywork and save a few quid though

Early S2 had the S1 slim light,
Late S2 had the larger unit.
If you use the wrong backing plate it wont clear the light unit.
