I have a 28mm phbh carb with a 50 slide which will be going on a standard rapido classic 225 I know the the norm is a 40 slide. I will be roughly starting with av 266 x7/13 needle 300 needle jet and 55/60 pilot and a 128 main and no filter and a jl3... Will it make that much difference? Any advice would be gratefully received cheers :geek:

In short yes. Your slide has an influence on the air fuel mixture up to 1/4 throttle, the bigger the cutterway in the slide the weaker the mixture will be, could be a problem if your sitting on a open road at 1/4 throttle for a long time. My Rapido is using a 30 slide at the minute so they do differ.

cheers Jeff.

will now have to go and check mine to get exact settings, but from memory think I tried with main jets of 125 and 128 with similar setup, didn't work.
Again only from memory, but think went down to a 115
