Got a TS1 that needs a new ignition system, whats the best one out there at the mo?

It really depends on which features of an ignition you want and in what order of prefference. Fixed timing or auto advance/retard, programmable advance curve, high power, low cost, power valve controller compatibility etc etc.

Cant fault a Varitronic,mines been on at least 5 years no problem

Ive also used Varitronic in the past with no probs, so maybee go that way again.

I've never run a varitronic but have heard that the lighting output is poor. Personally I'd probably go with a new BGM with a DC conversion. Wassel, small battery and an Augusto (or similar) if the variable aspect is needed.

My series 1 with varitronic has great lights!
It's a great ignition. In fact I bought a second one when I ruined my first one (my fault)

Have a look at the Casa version of Varitronic, no flywheel issues but that may now have been cured on current Tino Varitronics.
BGM system will be another option though not available yet.
