hi my gp 150 is smoking rally bad I think the drive side oil seal my have gone. how can I tell with out striping it down
I have had the oil seal replaced about four months ago when it first started it stopped it but now its started again dose anyone
know why it keep happening.
exhaust smoking
A couple of basic checks:
1) If it is smelly white smoke, you have a drive seal problem
.
2) Start the engine, let it warm up, block the exhaust pipe: If it doees not cut-out after 10 seconds then you have an air leak problem.
3) Start the engine then open the oil drain plug into a bowl: if the rpm starts to rise: drive seal
4) Take the bowl of oil outside, if you then can smel petrol in the oil definite seal failure.
There are many possible reasons: so best to see if it is infact the seal fisrt, then re-post on this thread for checks to do when breaking down the bottom-end again.
Cheers
