I was thinking it may be quite useful / interesting to have a thread to show and compare dyno charts.

I know theres lots of inconsistencies and of course 'dyno bollox' but I'm interested to compare general trends and characteristics of various setups rather than a specific 'i got more than you mentality'........

So if anyone cares to post just for general trends rather than 'mine is bigger.......

Hi Paul,

Heres two older 2007 charts of my last TS barrel, the only difference between the graphs is a different exhaust combined with different jetting. The first one is using a Devtour and second is using a JL4. The tune was a little erratic on this barrel but it good to show how the mood of the engine can be changed by different exhaust designs.

PS The Torque and RPM figures on the chart are incorrect due to the twin spark on a varitronic. RPM figures should be halfed and Torque doubled to get the correct readings

Devtour

JL4

JL4
Max Power 30.2bhp @ 7658rpm
Max Torque 20.8ft*lb @ 7452rpm

Devtour
Max Power 29.9bhp @ 7500pm approx
Max Torque 20.4ft*lb @ 7500rpm approx
Stay tuned..............

Paul,

I also have another graph here of the same engine but with a different barrel and a milder tune for use on the road, however I never used this engine on the road and this will be the basis for my all out monster  tee hee

This barrel was used with the Devtour and the power came in and dropped off much earlier

Different barrel with Devtour
Max Power 28.3bhp @ 7167rpm
Max Torque 20.9ft*lb @ 6974rpm

I'll have to scan the chart tomorrow as either the camera's playing up or this beers too strong.....hic!
Stay tuned..............

I started a Clubman Challenge on GSF with the winners (max HP and max torque) each get a crate of beer. No matter what Clubman type exhaust and no matter what cylinder capacity, but putting an Ancilotti on a Hayabusa is disqualifying  Intention is to see what setups work best with these Oldman-pipes. Deadline is 31st of August. I can post the results if you are also interested in these sort of ahem performance.

For now, here´s a TS1 with no jetting changes on the different pipes - this should have been done as the characteristic is very different between them, but tiome was too short. Cylinder is a road tuned TS1 ported by myself. It usually runs on a JL3 (24.5 HP at 6400) but I wanted to see if this porting with a rather low blowdown also works with other pipes. They couldn´t set up for the Vari, so bottom line is km/h. Anyway, here´s the 3rd gear rollons...

First is JL4 with a longer stinger. This was used to broaden the powerband, but power just kicked in a bit earlier and overrev was limited.

Second, MB3, very wide band, but half a hp down on the JL3 - I presume with a different mainjet it would have been higher. Somehow strange, it revs further then the JL4 and has lower power then a JL3 - have seen no other comparisation where this is..

third, MB2. Worked a treat on a TS I rode 12 years ago and did not impress me on this one. Dunno if this is also only jetting or this pipe just needs a lot more transfer and blowdown timing. And this dramatic dip in power??
